Awakening Earth: Narratives of Spring, a group exhibition

Curated by Sergio Gomez, “Awakening Earth: Narratives of Spring” is an innovative dual-exhibition that spans both the tangible and the digital spaces. This exhibition invites viewers on a journey through the myriad ways artists interpret the awakening of the earth as winter’s grasp loosens and spring’s first tendrils emerge. Through a curated selection of contemporary paintings, the exhibition explores the multifaceted narratives of spring—a time of unparalleled growth, blossoming beauty, and the rebirth of nature’s vibrant palette.

High Beam a 3-person exhibition

High Beam was a three person exhibition of contemporary painting and neon sculpture that was on view at James Oliver Gallery in Philadelphia from February 11-March 25, 2023. Alissa Eberle, Jennifer Small, and Pete Zebley come together in this optimistic collection, in an illuminated vantage of space and cityscape.

Together, the trio capture sublime stories of urban experience, composed through alternating of the microscopic and a gestalt view of these moments and their felt impression. Zebley moves into laser focus of these sensibilities through his current body of work, while Small emphasizes textural features in considered time, almost as movements in prose. Eberle casts light with fantastical mirage, of both edifice and inner world.

Extra in the Ordinary, a solo exhibition

Extra in the Ordinary was a solo exhibition of my latest paintings and works on paper that opened in June 2022 and ran until November 2022 at Shockoe Artspace in Richmond, VA. This was my largest exhibition to date. I was able to include 28 paintings and 4 large drawings filling the spacious gallery in the heart of Richmond’s Shockoe Bottom neighborhood. I also had the opportunity to chat with Ryan and Garreth, directors of Shockoe Artspace, on their podcast about art and design called Shockoe Artspeak.
